2wish Cymru: supporting all those affected by sudden death of a child or young adult aged 25 or under.

We had Laura, the North Wales Fundraiser for 2wish, join us in the Studio today to tell us a little about their charity & how to support it.

Laura has been with the Charity for a year now; she found she has an affinity for fundraising & organising events, her first one was in memory of her Dad whom she sadly lost when she was 9 years old.  

2wish was originally set up in October 2012 by Rhian after she tragically lost her 1 year old son George in the February of that year. There was very little support available & unable to cope with the loss, her husband Paul sadly took his own life just 5 days later. Rhian wanted to ensure that no other parent ever needs to feel the abandonment & helplessness that she felt and this is how 2wish came about.

2wish is an All Wales charity , however it is now moving into the bordering counties in England and is going from strength to strength.

A Professional can refer you to the Charity (with your consent). An Immediate Support Coordinator will contact you within 48 hours to arrange a home visit. A memory box will be provided for the family also as a keepsake if required.

2wish provides support for professionals eg. Police, paramedics and also witnesses to child and young adult sudden death.

Counselling, play therapy and psychotherapy are all available. The charity have Focus Support groups, offer complimentary therapy and also have a beautiful cottage in Caernarfon for guests to spend quality time in for reflection, rest or whatever is needed for their wellbeing. All of this free of charge.

2) Elephant 3k walk on 4/8/24.

3) Elephant Dip in Rhyl in November ‘24.

4) The Nutcracker Christmas Ball on 30/11/24.
