Veterans Honour Rally (VHR): supporting all Armed Forces Charities.
We had Andy, one of the Directors of VHR join us in the Studio today to tell us a little about their charity & how to support it.
The Veterans Rally was originally set up in 2021, however due to Covid the first rally took place in September 2022.
This year’s rally, in affiliation with the Armed Forces, takes place in England starting at The National Arboretum in Staffordshire on Monday 2nd September. From here the Rally heads to Skegness: Tuesday sees them driving down to Lowestoft staying at The Kitcheners Hotel. On Wednesday the cars (& their drivers in fancy dress!) head off to Brighton where they will have a parade on the Prom. Thursday’s drive is to Torquay Rugby Club and then Friday sees the VHR travel up the country to Rhyl Pavilion where they all have to arrive by 6pm.
The Teams have daily challenges to complete as well as group challenges, This encourages camaraderie, is fun and they earn points also.
Everybody who has an affiliation with the Armed Forces is eligible to register for this year’s VHR. Presently there are 25 cars registered, however up to 60 are allowed, so you still have time to register up until 1st July 2024.
Saturday 7th September is a huge day for the VHR as they are having a Fi4esta! There will be a parade down Rhyl Prom by the rally cars, the UK Armed Forces Rally Team, the Armed Forces Radio Station, a truck pull by the youngsters of Prestatyn FC plus ice cream van, burger van, Arriva poppy bus, raffles for amazing prizes to name but a few. Everybody will be welcomed to this fantastic event. The more the merrier 🙂

You can also visit their Socials- search for Veterans Honour Rally Association- this is an open group for anybody to follow etc. All information is available here as well as other contact details.
A fun way of supporting veterans & meeting like-minded people, forging new friendships and seeing many places in England.
We would like to say many thanks to Andy for taking time out of his busy day to come into the Studio here at Sound Radio to talk about how he was coerced into becoming involved with VHR (originally from providing the graphics, logo & merchandise etc for the rally drivers) and all about this year’s rally & how to register interest.
Andy will link the Sound Radio website to the Veterans Honour Rally on their Socials.
