North Wales Police have taken to social media to make cashiers and local traders aware of the possible circulation in the area of counterfeit currency.
Reports of counterfeit currency being used in the area was made on Saturday 2nd November on the North Wales Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele Facebook page, showing an image of a fake Bank of Ireland £50 note.
The note was reported to been seized from business in Abergele, North Wales. The urged local cashiers and local traders in the area to be mindful when accepting any large amounts of cash.
They also went on to report how you can identify counterfeit money, “You can usually suspect a fake note based on the texture and poor imaging and If in any doubt… Do not accept it !”
