Conwy County Borough Council has announced it will begin opening public toilets from Tuesday 7 July.

The first toilets will open on Tuesday 7 July at:

  • Capel Curig – Snowdon View
  • Colwyn Bay – Central Promenade
  • Deganwy – Marine Drive
  • Great Orme – Visitor Centre
  • Llanfairfechan  – Promenade
  • Llanfairfechan – Rhanddir Hedd
  • Llanrhos – Lawn Cemetery
  • Llanrwst – Cae Melwr Cemetery
  • Penmaenmawr – Tan Y Foel Cemetery
  • Rhos On Sea – Horizon Shine

More toilets will be opening throughout July.

The Council has introduced a number of changes, to help keep the public safe. These include a limit on the number of people allowed in a toilet building at one time, with a one-in one-out system at the smallest facilities. Some urinals, sinks and cubicles will be closed off to allow for social distancing. Toilets will be cleaned more regularly, with reduced opening times from 9am to 5pm.

“We will be opening our public toilets in a phased approach over the coming weeks, to make sure that the public and staff are kept safe,” said Cllr Greg Robbins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transportation. “We’re asking residents and visitors to respect the facilities and our staff, and to be prepared to follow the instructions. We intend to have most toilets open by the end of July.”
