Flood Alert for the River Elwy at St Asaph and Lower Denbigh

Mulitple Flood Alerts have been put in place by Natural Resource Wales along the River Elwy at Lower Denbigh, St Asaph and Rhuddlan.
The area alongside the River Elwy from Spring Gardens Bridge to Rhuddlan HTM Business Park including parts of the A547 Abergele Road, A525 St Asaph Road and Station Road.
Parts of St Asaph including Spring Gardens, Roe Parc, Hen Waliau, The Roe, Tan-y-Bryn, Ashly Court and Dean’s Walk and Dol-Belidr to Pen Rhewl including Wigfair, Pont Yr-Allt-Goch, Lower Denbigh Road and Cwrt Wigfair.
In addition to the area detailed, some localised flooding problems may result from surface water. River levels are above normal. Natural Resource Wales will continue to monitor the situation.
In Ruthin a Flood Warning is in place for the River Clwyd.
The rainfall is forecast to continue for at least the next 12 hour(s) and conditions are expected to deteriorate. River levels at Ruthin are rising and are expected to do so for the next 6 hours. Flood defences are now in operation and inspections taking place. Overtopping and/or breaches of these defences may cause flooding to properties at risk. There is a significant risk of localised flooding problems from surface water.
