Name of temporary hospital at Venue Cymru in Llandudno announced

Temporary Hospital Named

Last week it was announced that Venue Cymru in Llandudno will be used to accommodate an additional 350 beds to support Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s response to COVID-19.

Conwy County Borough Council has named the temporary hospital Ysbyty’r Enfys, which is Welsh for the rainbow hospital.

Iwan Davies, Chief Executive of Conwy County Borough Council said: “We’re proud to be supporting our colleagues in BCUHB at this very challenging time.  Giving the temporary hospital a name may seem like a small action but it’s important to give the facility a clear identity suitable for its new use.

“Rainbows have been adopted by many as a symbol of optimism during this challenging time and we felt that the name of the hospital could reflect
