New sweeper will see cleaner streets in Rhyl

A partnership between Denbighshire County Council and Rhyl businesses has funded a new street sweeper for the town.

The new Hako Sweeper has been jointly funded by Rhyl Business Improvement District (BID) and the Council and features a wet attachment which will provide a more powerful clean resulting in cleaner streets in the town.

Rhyl BID is a not for profit company run by businesses in the town.

Abigail Pilling, Rhyl BID manager, said: “The town’s streetscene has been identified as an area for improvement by residents and visitors alike.

“Rhyl’s streetscape is a primary focus for Rhyl BID as we work to enhance the shopper experience in our town. In partnership with the Council we are delighted with the introduction of the new and upgraded street sweeper which will give our streets a fresher look.

“We appreciate the partnership we have with the Council in delivering such initiatives.”

Brian Jones, the Council’s lead member for Waste, Transport and the Environment, said: “This enhanced street sweeper will improve the look of Rhyl’s streets and enhance the experience for visitors and residents.

“We are pleased to be working with Rhyl BID to support businesses in the town.”
