Sound Radio Wales are delighted to announce they have been awarded £200 from the ASDA “Green Token Giving” wall.

Back in July 2019 3 community organisation were featured on the ASDA supermarket “Green Token Giving” wall in their store in Kinmel Bay.

Customers of ASDA have been voting for which local organisation they would like to see be awarded with £500 of funding at the end of a three month period.  This was done by depositing a green token with every bag of shopping you purchase from the store.  The organisation with the most tokens at the end of 3 months will be awarded with £500, the two runners up will take £200.

Sound Radio Wales director Craig Kennealey said

“We are delighted to receive £200 from ASDA and would like to thank all members of the public and ASDA customers that contributed with tokens.  The money will help with the running costs of the radio station and towards our pending Ofcom application for an FM Community Radio licence.  Also as a not for profit community organisation this will insure that our volunteers can continue broadcasting and learn great skills in radio and creative media content.”

The two other organisation were the Rhyl Little Theatre LTD Children’s Club who also took £200 and the Welsh Air Ambulance who received the most tokens taking £500.
