Pupil tests positive for coronavirus in Denbigh school

Statement from Ysgol Frongoch and Denbighshire County Council
Denbighshire County Council have confirmed in a statement that a pupil at Ysgol Frongoch has tested positive for coronavirus. The council are following public health advice and parents / guardians have been informed by Public Health Wales via letter that 24 children from the same classroom will be required to self isolate for 14 days as a precautionary measure.
The school has been following a stringent hygiene process and will continue to do so, as well as other measures to reduce as much contact as possible with other groups of pupils.
The school has acted as quickly as possible to inform parents/ guardians of the position and will be working closely with the regional Test, Trace and Protect service to provide information to families.
The rest of the school will continue to remain open and pupils are advised to continue attending the school, unless they show any symptoms of coronavirus.
