Rhyl’s RNLI Festive Dip

Returning for Boxing Day 2022 is Rhyls Festive Dip!
Join fellow dippers of all ages, as they brave the chilly North Wales waters, all in aid of RNLI, raising funds to help the crew continue to save lives at sea.

Anyone wanting to get even more into the festive spirit can wear fancy dress, with a prize being awarded for the best dressed.
Entry is £5 per dipper, with all proceeds to the RNLI. Please see the below poster for more information.

Here are some of the top safety tips from the RNLI for cold water dipping:
* If it’s your first time open water swimming or cold water dipping, it’s important to speak to a health care professional to discuss the risks of cold water immersion before you go
* Know what to do if your get caught in a rip current
* Wear a wetsuit that fits you correctly and a brightly coloured swim hat
* Know what to do if your get caught in a rip current
* Acclimatise slowly. Never jump or dive straight in, as this could cause cold water shock
* Stay within your depths and swim parallel to the shore
* If you get into trouble remember to float to live
* Have plenty of warm clothes and a warm drink for after your swim
