Sentimental jewellery stolen from Prestatyn home as victim slept

Sentimental jewellery was stolen from a house in Prestatyn while the occupier was asleep.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary which happened on Plastirion Avenue between 10.30pm on Friday 11th May and 4am on Saturday 12th May, as the victim slept in her bedroom.

As well as a small amount of cash and coins, a cream jewellery box containing various rings including engagement and wedding rings, two gold watches a thin rope-style gold necklace, gymnastic medals and war memorabilia were among the items taken.

PC 3123 Kayleigh Lloyd said: “A number of items, some very unique and some of sentimental value were taken, including gymnastic medals from 1932 which belonged to her late husband’s father.”

“I am asking anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area or carrying a jewellery box to get in touch.  I would also like to hear from anyone who lives in the area and has CCTV or dashcam footage.”
