North Wales Police have made an update in relation to the incident at Eirias High School.
Police were alerted at 10.16am today, Monday 11th February, to a report of an assault on one pupil, a youth is currently in custody assisting police with inquiries following the incident in which one pupil was stabbed at Eirias High School in Colwyn Bay.
A boy was taken to hospital with injuries which are not deemed to be life changing and has since been discharged.
The investigation is ongoing and officers are talking to witnesses at the scene.
Chief Inspector Owain Llewellyn said: “There is an increased police presence at the school to provide reassurance. We cannot go into any further details at the moment; however we would ask people not to speculate on social media.”
Detective Chief Inspector Sion Williams also added: “Thankfully incidents of this nature are extremely rare in North Wales and we are working with the school and partner agencies as part of the ongoing investigation.
