Sound Radio Wales are one of 3 community organisation featured on the ASDA supermarkets “Green Token Giving” wall in their store in Kinmel Bay.

Customers of ASDA vote for which local organisation they would like to see be awarded with £500 of funding at the end of a three month period, this is done by despoiling a green token with every bag of shopping you purchase from the store.  The organisation with the most tokens at the end of 3 months will be awarded with £500, the two runners up will take £200.

Sound Radio Wales are a not for profit community organisation giving volunteers of all ages in the community the opportunity to learn and produce creative content such as live radio, podcasting, video production and more to increase their own skill set in a fully working environment. The £500 will goes toward the stations licensing costs in to help in our bid to begin transmitting on FM radio to North East Wales and the coast.

The two other organisation are the Welsh Air Ambulance and Rhyl Little Theatre LTD Children’s Club, who are both doing great things in and for the community.

The current Green Token Giving wall runs until the end of September 2019 and can be found on the wall near the checkouts at ASDA in Kinmel Bay. Don’t forget to drop your token in the yellow “Sound Radio Wales” slot 🙂
