North Wales Police have confirmed on social media that the body found on Prestatyn beach on Sunday morning is that of person who when missing during a search of the River Elwy near the Foryd Bridge in Rhyl.
Emergency services including the RNLI Rhyl Lifeboat were called in assist after a witness saw a man enter the water at the River Elwy and then lost sight. The RNLI inshore lifeboat searched the river until 5:45pm with no luck, returning to the boat house.
A body of a man was found on the beach in Prestatyn on Sunday 19th January, who has been now been named as 35-year-old Dean Jones from the Rhyl area.
His family are being supported by Police Family Liaison Officers and the investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.
