It was a full house at St Mary’s Church in Towyn on the 17/09/23. The Towyn & Kinmel Bay Civic Service was held at 2pm.
Welcoming you to St Mary’s Church was Rev Janet Crane and The Mayor Lou Formston with Consort Andrew Formston.

The service was really nice and kept the theme of love and community strong all the way through.
Lou welcomed everybody with a warm welcome to the service that included two choirs, first choir was children from Ysgol Y Foryd where we where entertained to two songs. The first was a Welsh song about being thankful, the second was a treat for The Mayor as Lou really enjoyed the schools end of term show in July “The Lion King” the children performed “I just can’t wait to be king”, this was magical and well received with a massive round of applause from the congregation.
The second choir was Tenovus Choir a local choir for people effected by cancer. We heard “make your own kind of music” and an original song written for the choir “Sing for Life”. The performance was very moving and I wasn’t the only person I could see that was brought to tears by the beautiful songs and wonderful singing.

The chosen Hymn’s for the service were
Dear Lord and Father,
Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning,
Opening with Lord of all hopefulness.
Readings of Romans 12.9-18 were given by Darren Millar MS and translated into Welsh by Nicola Rowlands (Headteacher of Ysgol Y Foryd).
The service was then followed by refreshments.
