We had Denise-Communications Officer & Member and Graham – a Volunteer join us in the Studio today to tell us a little about the Group & how to support it.
Lesley is the Artistic Director and Toby is the Chairman of Work In Progress.
Adele, Jack + Caroline are the other Volunteers who help with the Admin side, performances transport, making cups of tea & anything else if needed.
Work In Progress started immediately after lockdown to help with positive mental health and well-being in adults over 18.
The Group draws people in aged 18+ from Denbighshire and Flintshire. All memberships & sessions are Free and are held on Wednesday evenings at Good News in The Community, Marsh Road Rhyl between 6-8pm.
The aim is to build people’s self confidence, find their hidden talents,integrate everybody via Performing Arts & show them how to enjoy themselves in a big,friendly family-like atmosphere. Sessions are conducted in English, however there are bilingual members available if necessary.
The Group have recently been involved in a Murder,Mystery Night and have 2 upcoming events:
- On at Storyhouse Theatre Chest in collaboration with Chester University on 5/7/24
- Appearing at the International Eisteddfod.,Llangollen 6/7/24
