The Sound of Reminiscence
Every Sunday morning from 8am tune into Sound Radio 103.1 for The Sound of Reminiscence, a 60 minutes of dementia friendly radio. The aim of the show is to enrich listeners memories from songs and news stories from a certain year in a slow paced and calm way. While the show serves as a reminiscent resource its also provides reality orientation, mood management and will also help signpost to local and national services and groups.
The show has no jingles or unwanted interruptions other than minimal talking of historical news pieces.
“Music has the power to reach people emotionally and in many cases trigger memories.”
