HOPPING AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE

RHYL shoppers will have an extra spring in their step in the run-up to Christmas.

The balmy beaches of Australia will give way to the streets of the Denbighshire town as a pair of mischievous bouncing Christmas elves hop on to the High Street.

Aussies Horace and Boris will be keeping an eye on shoppers to see who has been naughty and nice, discovering who is guaranteed a place on Santa’s list this year.

The pair will be overseeing High Street fun on Saturday December 11 for the latest day of free activities staged by Rhyl Town Council.

Santa’s unusual helpers can jump one metre off the ground so no one will escape their once-over.

Rhyl mayor Cllr Diane King said: “Christmas is a time of fun and games with a little sprinkling of silly. Horace and Boris bring all of that with them.

“The elves are off their shelf and on the move and guaranteed to raise a smile as they bounce and bop along.

“I’ll be joining them in town, so get ready – we’ll be wanting to hear who has been extra special this year so we can make sure Santa has got everyone on his list.”

Joining the duo will be the band Ghostbuskers from Tape Community Music & Film, who will bring their special style of musical revelry to the occasion. There will also be free face painting.
Bouncing into Christmas will be held on Saturday December 11 from 11am.
