On Saturday, 12th September 2026. Over fifty golfers descended on Rhyl Golf Club for a competition organised and run by Peter Mcginius and his team at Rhyl Golf Shop.
The Morning began with some tough weather, but Big AL and Angie Sayer still managed to get around the course and speak to some of the teams as they tackeled the testing conditions and great course.
The Weather Wasn'T Kind
Yes, the golfers didn’t have the best conditions, but it was still great to see so many people supporting the event, and we still managed to broadcast. Big Al joined by Angie’s Sawyer and Cristina still managed to master driving around the golf course.

Golf Buggie Dakar
The golfers had the morning to navigate 9 holes on the course, starting with a shotgun start in a Texas scramble, where golfers pick the best ball and mark it on the scorecard.
Team Sound radio consisted of Gary Carr , Pete, Laurie and Paul McGuiness
Many of the golfers had to wrap up warm as the brisk sea breeze made the conditions hard to endure. But they all managed to make it back to the clubhouse with a smile on their faces.
Everyone had a smile on their faces at the prize giving!!
At the end of the competition, all the golfers gathered in the Members’ Lounge and the team at Rhyl Golf Shop handed out the prizes and even managed a raffle that included some merch from the golf shop and
Sound Radio. Pete McGuiness from Rhyl Golf Shop said “I really appreciate everyone who has turned up to support the shops day, thank you for your continued support to Chrissy and myself it really makes the day more fun”
