Originally trained in Drama and Entertainment, Claire enjoyed a successful performing career in Pavilion Theatre, Rhyl and South Wales. She was proud to be an exclusive member of the National Theatre of Wales for three consecutive years (1996–1998). During this time, she performed and learned the technical aspects at renowned venues including The Sherman Theatre, The Grand Theatre, Theatr Brycheiniog, and The Merlin Theatre, developing the confidence, stage presence, and communication skills that continue to define her broadcasting style today. Claire’s radio journey began with the Marcher Radio Group, where she became a regular feature on Breakfast with Mike James at Coast FM 96.3 in Colwyn Bay. Her natural warmth, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with both guests and audiences quickly made her a popular voice on air. Among her career highlights at this time was being personally invited by the Mayor of Bangor to join him as his guest for the town’s Christmas Lights Switch-On ceremony, arriving in style by limousine for the special occasion. Another memorable moment came when Claire and Mike James interviewed Mike Peters of The Alarm, leading to an invitation from Mike and Jules Peters to join them for dinner during The Gathering at Llandudno’s St George’s Hotel. An experience Claire considers a great honour. Her passion for live broadcasting was also showcased when she co-hosted the official opening of the Sun Centre’s famous Black Thunder and Buzz water slides, broadcasting live alongside a fellow presenter from The Buzz FM. She was most humbled when she was received a personal letter of thanks from the CLIC Welsh Children’s Cancer Nurses for arranging merchandise from Britney Spears along with a personal message from her to a little boy. Throughout her broadcasting career, Claire has interviewed and worked with an impressive range of artists and personalities, including Mike Peters (The Alarm), Leo Sayer, All Saints, Steps, Another Level, Carol Decker of T’Pau, and Foster & Allen. Today, Claire combines her journalistic curiosity, educational approach, and professional interviewing skills with a fun-loving, energetic personality that keeps listeners entertained and informed. Whether she’s chatting with guests, sharing stories, or bringing laughter to the breakfast table, Claire’s trademark warmth, wit, and enthusiasm provide the perfect start to the day.
